The additive is added to the paint mixing process or to the finished paint under stirring conditions.
In solvent-based systems, the additive should be tested for compatibility in varnish formulations.

The higher the content of polar solvents (alcohols, esters), the lower the likelihood of cloudiness.

For aqueous systems with less than 5% co-solvent, it is recommended to first neutralize the additive (65% BYK-4510 with 3% dimethylethanolamine and 32% water).

When using inorganic pigments, the gloss of the coating may be reduced if the pigments are not sufficiently stabilized with a suitable wetting and dispersing additive prior to the addition of the adhesion promoter.

In order to better communicate, first introduce a few commonly used professional terms.
1. Color paste
There are many English names for colorant, such as colorant, colour dispersion, pig-ment concentrate, pigment paste, T inter, stainer, shading paste, etc., all of which are called colorant. wax emulsion hs code It is a dispersion of pigments in a liquid medium.
Ordinary color pastes generally have high pigment content and high tinting strength. They are added by mass measurement and are suitable for large-scale color matching in factories.

2. Universal color paste
Universal pigment concentrate is a kind of pigment concentrate that has been strictly controlled in color, color strength, rheology, etc. and has good compatibility. It has good stability between batches.
In order to meet the requirements of grouting precision when matching small-volume and light-colored paints, for pigments with high tinting strength, general-purpose color pastes generally have low pigment content and low tinting strength. In addition, general-purpose colorants are generally injected by volume. It is suitable for color matching in factories and retail stores.

3. Flocculation
Flocculation usually refers to the phenomenon that the pigment particles fail to be in a stable dispersion state after depolymerization and re-flocculate. This leads to an increase in the particle size of the pigment, which results in loss of gloss, reduced color strength, hue changes, precipitation and other paint diseases. In addition, it can also cause floating and blooming.

4. Floating and blooming
Floating and flooding (floating and flooding) these two terms refer to two or more pigments that are not uniformly mixed.
Flowering: During the storage or drying process of color paste containing a variety of different pigment mixtures, one or more of the pigments segregate or surface, and the uneven color streaks and spots appear on the surface of the color paint or paint film. .
Floating color: It is an extreme condition of blooming. Some pigments float to the surface. Although the surface color of the paint film is uniform, it is obviously different from the wet film color when it is just applied.
