The third type is fumed silica (white carbon black). In the production of coatings, the viscosity of the system can be controlled by adding appropriate white carbon black. The common characteristics of these three inorganic thickeners are good biodegradability and low-shear thickening effect, but the roll coating has poor splash resistance.
