Exterior water-based paint, latex paint :
Used as anti-mildew paint, add 1.5-2Kg of colloidal suspending agent in each ton of paint
Used as anti-mildew paint, add 7-10Kg of gum suspension agent in each ton of paint.

Wetting agent The water-based paint wetting agent should have a low dosage, high efficiency in reducing surface tension, good compatibility with other components in the system, no side effects such as poor recoatability and decreased adhesion, low foaming and Unstable foam, high stability in aqueous solution, etc. Such additives are usually non-ionic and anionic surfactants, such as alkoxy ethers, acetylene glycols, sulfosuccinates, etc., as well as fluorocarbon surfactants, modified silicones, etc. These surfactants can significantly reduce eaa emulsion the surface tension of the coating, improve the wettability of the wet film to the substrate, and play a role in preventing shrinkage. At the same time, the wetting agent can also adjust the surface tension gradient of the coating film and improve the leveling of the coating film. Among them, fluorocarbon surfactants are the most effective in reducing surface tension and improving wettability, but they may cause problems such as foam stabilization and poor recoatability. Table 8-3 lists some typical wetting agents.

Leveling agents commonly used in water-based coatings mainly include acrylic acid and its ester copolymers, polyether-modified silicone and fluorine-modified acrylic resins. These types of leveling agents can form a thin film on the surface of the coating film, adjust the surface tension gradient between the surface layer and the upper and lower layers of the coating film, promote the uniformity of the surface tension, and improve the surface flatness. Polyether-modified silicone also improves the smoothness and scratch resistance of the coating film, while the fluorine-modified polymer is very effective in reducing the surface tension of the system. Polyether-modified silicones and fluorine-modified polymers are also very helpful in improving the wetting of the substrate and preventing shrinkage. When choosing polyether-modified silicone, pay attention to whether it will bring about foam stability and affect recoatability.
