The important application of PE wax lies in PVC processing. Compared with fatty acid lubricants, it has no adverse effects on melt tension and Vicat softening point, and provides excellent anti-adhesion and flow control. PE wax can be used to control melting in a special process. Even if the amount of addition is large, it has a very good compatibility with other components. PE wax is the only one of the known plastic lubricants that possesses both internal and external lubrications (demolding effect), and meanwhile keeps high transparency and having little effect on gelling. In addition, the low volatility of PE wax is very important for rolling and vacuum degassing. PE wax, as an internal lubricant, has good compatibility with polymer. It can reduce the cohesion of polymer molecules inside the polymer, thus improving the heat generation and fluidity of plastic melt. The function of PE wax as external lubricant is to improve the friction between polymer melt and hot metal surface of processing equipment. Due to its poor compatibility with polymers, it is easy to migrate from the melt inside to outside and therefore form a thin lubricating layer on the interface between plastic melt and metal.
