Powder coating is a green coating that we all like, it can make our society rich and colorful, and it is harmless to the environment. Environmental powder coating has entered our green family with its characteristics, so that it can be developed more rapidly.

Powder coating is actually a kind of paint. It is used in some ships and pipelines on the exterior, in these central coating a layer of powder coating, so that it can play the role of anti-corrosion.

When a ship is flying at sea, the metal hull is in direct contact with the sea water and it is easy to attack corrosion, so a layer of stable sea water isolation coating is applied on the exterior. Powder coatings are chemically very stable and perform very well in this respect.

Waxes are useful in all processes of powder coating curing. Whether it is matting or improving the performance of the coating film, wax is the first thing that comes to mind. Of course, different types of waxes play a very different role in powder coating. Because of the small molecules on the surface of powder coated substrates, especially in porous substrates such as cast iron, cast aluminum, and zinc-based substrates, these waxes solve coating defects such as pores, bubbles, and depressions caused by the above substrates.

The wax is distributed on the surface of the coating film to protect it from scratches and scuffs and to provide abrasion resistance.Generally, polymer modified waxes are added, which are particularly effective for dark flat formulations and low-gloss, sanded formulations.

Different types of waxes have a special silky soft touch, and also due to the non-wetting properties of the wax for other coatings, anti-pollution coatings can be prepared. In contrast, when considering the recoatability of powder coatings, if the surface is not easily wetted, the powder will not be easily powdered. Waxes are used in powder coatings to improve the surface properties of the coating film, mainly to improve smoothness, scratch resistance and water resistance. Later, it is used to influence the rheological properties of the coating, such as degassing, improving leveling and matting ability, and changing the surface condition of the coating.
