Application of water-based wax emulsion products in coating materials. With the start of the environmental protection war, water-based environmentally friendly materials are slowly replacing oily solvents in many fields, becoming a trend of industry development. As an indispensable water-based wax emulsion product in water-based coatings, it is widely used in water-based coating materials due to its unique properties and functions.
1. Change the surface properties of the coating, protect the coating, adjust the gloss and other functions.
The wax in most water-based surface coating formulas changes the surface properties of the coating, such as improving the smoothness of the coating or anti-slip, anti-wear, anti-adhesion, changing the gloss, water repellent, rust prevention, etc. In use, the wax particles need to occupy the surface of the coating during the drying process of the coating to form an isolation layer, thereby playing a protective role.
2. In some fields, wax emulsions are used as special coating resins.
Wax emulsions, especially microemulsions, have a certain film-forming property to form a coating on the substrate. Because wax has excellent hardness, polishability, hand feel, hydrophobicity, good chemical resistance and stability, and is non-toxic, wax emulsion-based coatings are often used in the fields of polishing agents, water repellents, and anti-rust coatings.
3. Isolation and bonding.
Wax is generally considered to have good anti-sticking and isolation properties, so it is often used as a release agent, isolation agent and other products in papermaking, rubber and plastic processing, metal die-casting and other fields, among which polyethylene wax emulsion is used more. But what is interesting is that in the water-based sealing glue products for paper products and PE and PP film bonding, there is a formula that uses polyethylene wax emulsion and loose tongue, VAE emulsion compounding to achieve good results. Polyethylene wax emulsion in the formula mainly plays the role of increasing adhesion to PE and PP films.
As the environmental protection battle deepens, water-based wax emulsion products will be used more and more widely.
