During the printing process of the thermal printer, the thermal paper develops color. Due to the poor absorption of the thermal paper after it develops color, the molten material cools and solidifies when the thermal paper leaves the heating body, resulting in the accumulation of the colored matter on the print head. Part of it is taken away by thermal paper again, and a small part sticks to the thermal print head and accumulates to produce carbon deposits.
Under certain conditions such as low temperature or high humidity, the thermal printer has insufficient heat storage or too fast cooling speed of the thermal body of the print head, and the melt of the thermal paper cools and adheres to the print head, causing the phenomenon of sticking or printing compression, etc. At the same time, the phenomenon accompanied by large noise is collectively referred to as sticky paper. Specifically, as shown in the figure below, white and black bars appear in the print.
Carbon deposits and sticky paper cause great harm to thermal print heads. Carbon deposits not only affect normal printing, but also because it adheres to the surface of the heating element of the print head, affecting its heat dissipation. Long-term high temperature will cause the print head Impact damage, some carbon deposits fall inside the printer, which will affect the normal transmission, so it needs to be cleaned regularly.
The production of sticky paper will affect the initial printing of some printers and the printing part with high printing rate. When the sticky paper is produced, there will be a lot of noise, and the printing will stick or compress or white or black stripes, which will seriously affect the normal printing. It may even damage the print head.
Evaluation method of carbon deposition and sticky paper
The carbon deposition evaluation is to measure the comparison of the width and thickness of the carbon deposition. The higher the score of the carbon deposition, the more the carbon deposition.
The influencing factors include ambient temperature and humidity, characteristics of the print head, energy, pressure, position, printing proofs, paper formula and process set by the printer.
(1) Factors affecting carbon deposition related to thermal paper: carbon deposition has a lot to do with the organic and inorganic components, proportions, and coating process of the primer and the thermal layer.
(2) Influencing factors of sticky paper related to thermal paper
The heat-sensitive layer and top coating of thermal paper have a great influence on the sticky paper, mainly due to the temperature resistance of the organic components contained in the top coating, and the inorganic components in the heat-sensitive layer, such as lubricants, will cause sticking when improperly used. Paper.
Tianshi wax dispersions adopt a unique emulsification process, with narrow particle size distribution, good emulsion stability and lotus leaf hydrophobic effect.
It has good film formation and high melting point, and can exert good lubricity and anti-adhesion in coatings with high processing temperature. Used in thermal paper, glove coating, textile coating and other fields.
