It can be used as an anti-mold agent for non-medical, non-food natural and synthetic adhesive formulations and for the production of flooring adhesives and carpet backing used for blocking and waterproofing materials, repair mixes, sealants, cement pastes, emulsions, etc. to prevent the growth of fungi in the dry and wet state of finished materials.
Glycine Accelerated Test Method
Using a sodium glycine solution with pH=10.5 can quickly dissolve copper and cuprous oxide in the paint film, and rosin can also be dissolved. The copper becomes a complex of copper glycine in the solution, which accelerates the consumption of the paint film. The amino acid solution is 0.025 mol sodium glycine acetate and 0.48 mol NaCl.
The preparation method is: 1.25mol NaOH360mL, glycine 33.75g, NaCI540g, distilled water 18L.
During the test, apply anti-rust and anti-fouling paint (paint film area 42cm²) on the single-sided frosted glass sample plate according to the actual construction situation. After the paint is dried for one day, use a shaker to stand still in 300mL sodium glycine solution for 9.5h. Shake again, take it out every 12h, wash with seawater for 0.5h, and shake it in seawater or artificial seawater for 2h to determine the exudation rate of copper ions. Repeat the above test until the exudation rate of copper ions in the sample plate is very small. Measure the copper ion exudation rate and draw the exudation curve.
Ethylenediamine accelerated test method
Ethylenediamine can form complexes with copper or cuprous oxide in the paint film:
CH: -NH2/NH-CH:
Cu
CH: -NH/NH-CH,
Ethylenediamine solution is alkaline, and the accelerating fluid pH=12, because it can dissolve the paint film, the solubility of ethylenediamine to copper in the high rosin paint film is about 1500ug/(cm²·d). The accelerated test method of ethylenediamine is to apply anti-rust and anti-fouling paint on a frosted pp wax clariant glass sample plate according to the regulations. The paint area is 90cm², dry for one day, and oscillate in 300mL accelerating liquid at a frequency of 120 times/min and an amplitude of 2cm, every 6h. Replace the accelerating fluid once, use a 72-type spectrophotometer to directly convert the colorimetric measurement (x=560gm) into the accelerated exudation rate [Cu+pg/(cm³·d)], and draw the accelerated exudation rate curve.
The accelerated test method of ethylenediamine has a large acceleration factor, but because ethylenediamine is strong in alkalinity, it will cause paint stripping and chalking for the paint base with poor alkali resistance, so it is not applicable.
