What is matting powder?

Matting powder is a new type of leather patching matting agent made of polyacrylamide and film-forming materials, which can be divided into two types: oil-based matting powder and water-based matting powder.

It is widely used in a variety of coating systems such as latex paint, interior and exterior wall paint, alkyd resin paint and polyester paint, etc. It can control the surface gloss of the coating film in a balanced way, increase the abrasion resistance and scratch resistance of the coating film, dehumidify, deodorize, purify the air, soundproof, waterproof and heat insulation.

Except for polymerizable surfactants, emulsifier molecules are not adsorbed on the polymer through chemical bonds, but physically adsorbed on the interface between the emulsion and water, water and air. Because of this, the emulsifier can affect the next step of the polymer processing, for example, it can be used as a lubricant or antistatic agent in the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) processing industry, or emulco wax emulsion it can be washed away by rain in the exterior wall decoration paint.

Surfactants and emulsion stabilizers used in some special emulsion polymerization processes, such as the production of polyacrylic acid adhesives used in water-based news inks and inverse emulsion polymerization, they will deink and waste water along with waste paper The flocculation during processing enters the environment.
