The amount of wax emulsion added to the coating is mainly added in the form of additives, and the general amount of addition is about 0.1%-3%, depending on the type of resin used in the actual formula and the final performance to be achieved.
Application and mechanism of wax emulsion in coatings:
1. Anti-slip, anti-adhesion, and stain resistance. The wax additives in the coating system will migrate to the surface of the film evenly and gradually during the drying process of the film. A wax film is gradually formed on the surface of the film, which can make the coating surface anti-adhesion and produce synchronous effects such as anti-wear and anti-scratch.
2. Friction resistance and scratch resistance. The migration of wax to the surface of the coating film can greatly reduce the dynamic friction coefficient of the coating surface, and only a small amount is needed to achieve scratch resistance. The addition of wax emulsion to the coating can greatly reduce the tendency of the paint film to be polished due to friction, while maintaining low gloss durability.
3. Anti-sagging and anti-precipitation. Wax dispersed in aromatic and aliphatic solvents can increase the anti-precipitation property of coatings and inks. It also shows different degrees of thixotropy, anti-sagging and positioning of metallic pigments.
4. Matting effect. Migrate to the surface of the coating to the wax particles, and through refraction, diffusion, etc., the reflection of the light projected on the surface of the coating in the same direction is weakened to achieve the matting effect. Wax emulsions of different particle sizes and varieties have very different matting effects, ranging from completely maintaining gloss to deep matting.
5. Hand feel and visual effect. TIANSHI wax additives can effectively improve the feel of the coating surface, giving the coating a good waxy and silky feel. It will give the coating surface a very unique visual effect.
