What are the functions of masterbatch dispersants? For masterbatch manufacturers, product processing has high requirements for dispersibility. On the one hand, enterprises need to consider the risks of low-molecular volatile substances or precipitates. On the other hand, the raw materials must meet the requirements of viscosity that can match the shear dispersion effect when entering the screw for processing… In addition, how can masterbatch show excellent coloring power in the processing of different plastic carriers (such as olefin plastic carriers, high-temperature engineering plastic carriers, polar plastic carriers, etc.)?
Main components of masterbatch:
1. Pigments: generally divided into organic pigments, such as phthalocyanine green, etc.; inorganic pigments such as iron oxide red, titanium dioxide; dyes such as reduced pink, disperse orange, etc. Polyolefin and PVC masterbatches use pigments. Generally speaking, dyes cannot be used for polyolefin coloring, otherwise it will cause serious migration.
2. Dispersant: It mainly wets the surface of the pigment, which is conducive to further dispersion of the pigment and stabilization in the resin. At the same time, it must have good compatibility with the resin and does not affect the quality of the colored product. Polyolefin masterbatch dispersants generally use low molecular weight polyethylene wax or zinc stearate. Engineering plastic masterbatch dispersants generally use polar low molecular weight polyethylene wax, magnesium stearate, calcium stearate, etc.
Three, carrier resin: make the pigment evenly distributed and make the masterbatch granular. The selection of the carrier needs to consider the compatibility with the resin to be colored, and also consider that the masterbatch should have good dispersibility, so the fluidity of the carrier should be greater than the resin to be colored. At the same time, it does not affect the product quality after being colored. If a similar polymer with a larger melt index is selected, the melt index of the masterbatch is higher than the polymer to be colored to ensure the color consistency of the final product. PE and PP masterbatches use LDPE (low molecular weight polyethylene) resin as the carrier, and PS and ABS masterbatches use modified PS as the carrier.
TIANSHI polyethylene wax TS-5209, white powder, 105-115 degrees, viscosity 40-60, recommended reasons high hardness, high cost performance, good customer feedback, good dispersion and wetting properties, play a vital role in plastic product processing:
1. This series of polyethylene wax products can improve the fluidity and dispersibility of the masterbatch processing process.
2. Polyethylene wax can effectively improve the coloring ability of pigments in masterbatch.
3. Polyethylene wax can improve the surface gloss of masterbatch products.
